{"id":389,"date":"2018-05-03T20:53:06","date_gmt":"2018-05-03T18:53:06","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.gianlucamancusi.com\/?p=389"},"modified":"2018-05-03T20:53:32","modified_gmt":"2018-05-03T18:53:32","slug":"is-moores-law-accurate-enough","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.gianlucamancusi.com\/wordpress\/2018\/05\/03\/is-moores-law-accurate-enough\/","title":{"rendered":"Is moore&#8217;s law accurate enough?"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>During my university studies, Moore&#8217;s Law was very often mentioned and each time it always seemed to me a rough approximation but it makes sense.\u00a0For those who do not know Moore noticed that<em> the number of transistors per square inch on integrated circuits had doubled every year since their invention.<\/em><\/p>\n<p>Moore&#8217;s prediction proved accurate for several decades, and has been used in the semiconductor industry to guide long-term planning and to set targets for research and development.<\/p>\n<p>I think that there are physical limits to the development of integrated circuits that can not be ignored.
